Holy Qur’an proclaims about itself: لَّا يَأْتِيهِ ٱلْبَٰطِلُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَلَا مِنْ خَلْفِهِۦ ۖ تَنزِيلٌ مِّنْ حَكِيم حَمِيدٍ” (No falsehood can approach it (the Qur'an) from the front or rear : it is sent down by the One full of wisdom, worthy of all praise). Surah 41: Verse 42.
It is implied in the above Qur’anic assertion that there is nothing in the Qur’an which is against natural laws or which is not in line with historical facts or history of creation. With regard to “Universal/Global Flood” Qur’anic account is very clear: “وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَامًا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلطُّوفَانُ وَهُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ” ( We sent Noah to his people, and he stayed among them for around 950 (thousand years minus fifty) years. Then the Deluge swept them; for they were the wrong doers. Surah 29: Verse 14.
Qur’anic stance is that the flood was not global or universal instead it was inflicted only on the wrongdoers among the people of Noah A.S. On the contrary, Holy Bible’s clearly claims that “the water did not start going down for a hundred and fifty days”, and after that the water started receding “on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains appeared”. In the light of scientific investigations it can be said that there are no signs of prolonged submersion on the earth after the appearance of homo sapiens in their current state and it was not a global flood. Thus we say that the Qur’an, as the only unadulterated revelation, is the only authentic source about the history of creation and historical facts.
